Ribbon cutting ceremonies were held recently at Lockport Upper Elementary
and South Larose Elementary for new playground equipment sponsored by
Thibodaux Regional Health System. Valentine Chemicals, located in Lockport,
partnered with Thibodaux Regional in sponsoring the equipment for these
two schools.
Thibodaux Regional has taken a leadership role in addressing childhood
obesity. This playground equipment project is a continuation of Thibodaux
Regional’s ongoing initiative to improve the health and wellness
of the youth in Lafourche and surrounding parishes.
“We strongly believe that if children are provided with education
focused on healthy lifestyle choices and an opportunity to increase their
physical activity, improvements can be made to their overall health,”
said Greg Stock, Thibodaux Regional CEO. “We appreciate the opportunity
to work with the School District and other community partners to further
the hospital’s efforts in providing our youth with the tools they
need to make a positive impact on their health and wellness.”
